Baroness’ Tour Bus Crashes in the U.K.
A tour bus carrying Georgia metal band Baroness plunged 30 feet off a viaduct near Bath, England, the BBC reports, injuring everyone aboard. The band was traveling to a show in Southampton after playing in Bristol last night when heavy rain reduced visibility in the area. Two of the nine people on board were trapped in the crash and were rescued by firefighters. Neither has been named, but both suffered multiple fractures and were taken to separate hospitals. The other seven passengers suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
“Baroness were in a serious bus accident last night near Bath, England,” a rep for the group said in a statement. “The band members and crew are recovering at local hospitals. All tour dates are postponed until further notice.”
The band, which last month released its third album, Yellow & Green, had been scheduled to begin a handful of U.S. shows August 29th.
Police are investigating the incident, saying, “At this stage it is too early to tell what the cause was.”
