‘Dark Knight’ Shooting Victim Rips Dave Mustaine for Obama Comments
A Colorado woman wounded in a movie theater shooting rampage that killed 12 on July 20th has criticized Megedeth singer Dave Mustaine for comments suggesting that President Obama had orchestrated the attack in pursuit of an anti-gun agenda, TMZ reports. “Some people think the president is a good scapegoat but he didn’t shoot me,” said Carli Richards, who was shot multiple times at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado. She was one of 58 people injured by alleged shooter James Holmes.
Mustaine suggested August 7th at a concert in Singapore that as part of Obama’s effort to “pass a gun ban,” the president was “staging all these murders” in Aurora and in an attack that left six dead at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee August 5th. Mustaine expanded on his comments yesterday in an interview with InfoWars.com, which has put forth conspiracy theories on both attacks. “There’s some questions here, I just think that we deserve to know the truth – that’s it,” the singer said. He latter added, “I’m a patriot, I love our country, I’ve always been controversial, I’m a political songwriter and this wasn’t done to hurt any of my fellow countrymen – I think that it’s something we really really need to look into.”
Said Richards, “It’s obviously kind of absurd and people who make up conspiracies just want attention.”
