Watch Bruce Springsteen Jam With Jimmy Fallon
When the news surfaced that Bruce Springsteen was going to perform with The Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon many fans tried to guess what songs he’d perform — but it’s likely nobody predicted that he’d open with a cover of Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair.” Wearing a wig and fake beard so he’d look like himself circa 1975, Springsteen joined Fallon (dressed as Neil Young circa 1970) midway through a hilarious version of the song that culminated with “Born To Run”-style chants.

Later in the night Springsteen and The Roots, with Roy Bittan and Steve Van Zandt, performed “Because The Night” and “Save My Love.” He also sat down for an interview (watch below) with Fallon in which he talked about how he originally wrote “Fire” for Elvis Presley, why he wrote 70 songs for Darkness On The Edge of Town and how Jimmy Iovine talked him into giving “Because the Night” to Patti Smith.
