Marilyn Manson Gets Married
Marilyn Manson, 36, married his longtime girlfriend and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, 33, in a small ceremony in Ireland on Saturday, according to People magazine.
The shock rocker (born Brian Warner) and Von Teese (born Heather Sweet), exchanged vows in front of sixty guests in a non-denominational ceremony conducted by avant-garde filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky at Castle Gurteen, the home of a friend in Kilsheelan. It was the first marriage for both, who have been dating for four years. The couple became engaged in March of 2004 when Manson proposed to Von Teese at their Los Angeles home.
Meanwhile, Manson is busy breeding new art: The rocker is working on Fantasma Gloria, a series of four short films to be released through his Web site; plans to open an art gallery in L.A.; will publish a book of paintings; and is making a cameo appearance opposite an undead Lucy Liu in the supernatural thriller Rise, due next year.
As for his next album, the follow-up to 2003’s The Golden Age of Grotesque, Manson told Rolling Stone this summer that he has nearly twenty songs in the can. “It’s not like I’m going to stop making music and start knitting.”
