B.o.B Rules the Hot 100 as ‘Glee’ Enjoys ‘Power of Madonna’
B.o.B’s debut album B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray is on pace to take Number One on next week’s Top 200, meaning the up-and-coming Atlanta rapper may have both of Billboard‘s big charts on lockdown. His single “Nothin’ On You” topped the Hot 100 for a second consecutive week, and there was even more good news for the rapper Rolling Stone named the best Stoner MC in our Best New Bands of 2010: Bobby Ray closer “Airplanes Pt. 2,” featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Eminem, climbed from Number 12 to Nine in its second week on the Hot 100. B.o.B’s “Bet I” with T.I. also debuted at Number 72.
Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” settled for Number Two once again after flip-flopping spots with B.o.B last week. Other than the addition of “Airplanes Pt. 2,” the Top 10 remained largely unchained. After Glee‘s Power of Madonna soundtrack topped this week’s Billboard 200, the Fox show registered four Madonna-related debuts on the Hot 100, led by the cast’s rendition of “Like a Prayer” at Number 27.
It wasn’t the best week for Christina Aguilera, though, as her first Bionic single “Not Myself Tonight” dropped from Number 23 to 49. However, with a new video for “Tonight” out today, Aguilera may fare better when next week’s numbers come in.
