Eminem Remarries Kim
Eminem (born Marshall Mathers III) and ex-wife Kim remarried on Saturday in a ceremony at Meadow Brook Hall, the eighty-year-old mansion built for auto mogul John Dodge’s widow, in Rochester, Michigan.
50 Cent, Obie Trice, and members of G Unit and D12, including Proof (real name Deshaun Holton), who served as best man, were in attendance. The ceremony took place less than a week after Kim filed an application for a marriage license with the Macomb County clerk’s office in Michigan.
Eminem and Kim both grew up in the suburbs along Detroit’s Eight Mile Road, and went on to marry in 1999. Their tumultuous relationship — the subject of many of the rapper’s vitriolic verses — ended in a bitter divorce in 2001, which involved a heated custody battle over their now ten-year-old daughter Hailie.
Last month, the multiplatinum rapper hinted during an interview with a Detroit radio station that he and his ex-wife had reunited and might possibly remarry. The interview, given the same week his first greatest-hits compilation, the chart-topping Curtain Call, was released, was one of Eminem’s only public appearances since calling off last fall’s European tour to enter rehab for addiction to sleeping pills.
