Last Stop for Maroon 5
“I don’t want to be a bitchy rock star or whatever, but the lifestyle is fucking crazy,” says Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, fresh off an exhausting European tour. “It takes a toll.” The rockers can finally look forward to a break in January, after a New Year’s blowout concert at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.
Levine confesses that the band members have had some methods for staying on their feet through their relentless schedule in support of their blockbuster album Songs About Jane. “I’m a slave to caffeine,” he says. “And we’re lucky enough to have a physical therapist with us for preshow rubbing.”
After Europe, Australia and a stop in Hong Kong, Maroon 5 have returned to the States to make a few TV appearances and play a string of radio holiday festivals before ringing in the New Year. But once he toasts 2005, Levine promises, “I’m going to Hawaii and never coming back.”
