Jonas Brothers Prep for Opening Night on Eve of World Tour 2009
The Jonas Brothers media bonanza has begun: the trio will be interviewed by Larry King tonight and make a special appearance on the Today show tomorrow. It’s all leading up to their giant World Tour 2009, featuring opener Jordin Sparks, which kicks off Saturday night (June 20th) in Arlington, Texas. The group’s third LP, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, came out this week.
When Rolling Stone visited the band in Texas during rehearsals we got our first look at the new in-the-round stage, which stretches nearly clear across entire arenas. “In the audience, you only are 30 to 90 feet away from us at any point,” Kevin explained.

“Putting this show together is so much different than anything we’ve ever done before,” Nick tell us (click above to watch our video interview). “We tried to add some musicians, some horn players and some string players, just to fill in the space, and fill in the sound as well.” They’ve also added some lasers, pryo and other surprises they refuse to divulge until opening night. Joe confirmed a “dance party” will go down during new tune “Much Better” and sparks fly on “Fly With Me.”
