Jay-Z, Muse, Gorillaz, Pavement Booked for 2010 Coachella Fest
Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz will serve as headliners at the 2010 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, taking place in Indio, California, April 16th to 18th. Reunions and supergroups highlight the lineup, as Pavement, the Specials, Sly & The Family Stone and Faith No More are all set to perform at the festival, as well as Them Crooked Vultures and the Dead Weather. Other notables on the bill include a solo set by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, LCD Soundsystem, Gary Numan, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Grizzly Bear, Devo, Phoenix, Spoon, Julian Casablancas and more.

Jay-Z, who turned out an impressive set as the emergency fill-in at All Points West, will take the lead the opening night of Coachella, which is also organized by All Points West founders Goldenvoice. Jay-Z’s festival resume includes a headlining slot at the 2007 Glastonbury as well as a scheduled set at this year’s Isle of Wight fest. Muse will bring The Resistance to Indio on Saturday night, while Gorillaz will wrap up the fest Sunday night with a showcase of their upcoming album Plastic Beach and what The Desert Sun promises will be a “highly sophisticated virtual reality multimedia show.”
As Rolling Stone reported from the desert in ’09, last year’s Coachella featured headliners Paul McCartney, the Killers and the Cure, plus Leonard Cohen, M.I.A., Morrissey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, My Bloody Valentine and many more. Click here for our full coverage from the 2009 Coachella.
