Bret Michaels’ Tonys Lawsuit Moved to New York
A judge in California has ruled that Bret Michaels’ lawsuit against CBS and the Tony Awards will need to be moved to New York. Michaels is pursuing a suit against the broadcaster and the awards show because he claims that he was nearly killed when he was hit in the head by a descending backdrop after performing the opening number of the 2009 Tonys show.

According to Judge Dolly M. Gee of the United States District Court in Los Angeles, Michaels’ case will need to be heard in the state where the accident occurred. Michaels had pursued the lawsuit in California because he resides in Los Angeles.
The Poison frontman’s lawsuit states that the accident led to a cerebral hemorrhage. He was treated in early 2010, but was forced to cancel several concert appearances.
