‘Spider-Man’ Musical Will Return to Broadway in June
The producers of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark have announced that the troubled musical will be relaunched on June 14th. The revamped version of the production is said to include new songs written by U2‘s Bono and the Edge, as well as altered and expanded choreography.

The show is also expected to jettison much of the story developed by the show’s creator, Julie Taymor. Though Taymor is still involved with the musical, she has been replaced as its director by Broadway veteran Phil McKinley. Taymor’s version of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has been a box office hit, but it has been beset by extremely poor reviews and word-of-mouth reports, as well as several on-set accidents involving performers.
Even before Taymor’s departure as director in March, the show had undergone steady tinkering, which has resulted in its opening date being pushed back several times over.
