Brooks to Play First Nashville Show in 10 Years
Garth Brooks will perform a benefit concert on December 17 for victims of this spring”s Tennessee floods. The show, to be held at Nashville”s Bridgestone Arena, will mark Brooks” first concert in the city in more than 10 years. Proceeds will go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. A Look at T.I.“s Prison Menu
TMZ has done some research on what T.I. can expect when he returns to prison Monday to begin his 11-month stint for probation violation (presumably he already knows the menu: it”s the same Arkansas prison where he served his 10-month bid on weapons charges). Items include fried fish, PB&J, mac and cheese, chicken patties, grilled cheese sandwiches, hamburgers, assorted vegetables and something called “creamed beef.” [TMZ]
Tom Cruise for Rock of Ages?
He”s not as obvious a choice as, say, Dee Snider, but Deadline.com is reporting that Tom Cruise is being courted for a role in the movie version of the hit hair-metal musical Rock of Ages. He”d play the bartender in the nightclub where the show is based and would be required to belt out several of the classics featured in the film. [Deadline.com]
Deadmau5 Announces Album Release Date, Tracklist
Rolling Stone“s ‘Hot DJ” Deadmau5 has released so many singles, mixtapes and compilation tracks that it”s surprising that his forthcoming album is actually his debut full-length. The LP will, puzzlingly, be called 4X4=12, include 11 tracks and be released on Ultra December 5. [Press release]

Amanda Ghost Stepping Down as Epic Records President
Epic Records U.S. President Amanda Ghost, who took her post early in 2009, will leave the label at the end of this year to focus on songwriting and production. She will continue to ‘identify and nurture” talent through her label imprint, Outsiders. [Billboard.biz]
