Cee Lo Speaks Out About ‘Despicable’ Sexual Assault Allegations
Cee Lo Green has issued a statement regarding allegations of sexual assault that TMZ reported earlier this month. A woman filed a police report accusing the singer of drugging her with ecstasy while the two dined at a sushi restaurant in July, and claimed she remembered nothing afterward until realizing she was naked in a bed with Cee Lo in the room.
“Given that the matter is under investigation, we obviously cannot speak as freely as we’d like. What we can say is that these allegations are despicable, untrue, and deeply hurtful to Cee Lo, his children and his family,” Green’s rep said in the statement. “We are confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear that if anyone was victimized here, it was Cee Lo. In the meantime, Cee Lo is deeply grateful for the overwhelming support he has received from his fans, his friends, and his colleagues.”
In an unrelated incident, TMZ also reports Cee Lo brawled with two women in Miami in July 2011, but police deemed the incident “mutual combat” and were unable to determine who started the fight. No arrests were made.
