‘Band on the Run’ First McCartney Reissue in Series
Paul McCartney, who plans to reissue the entire discographies from his solo work and Wings, will begin on November 2nd with a deluxe edition of Band on the Run. McCartney himself oversaw the reissue of the 1973 album, which was remastered by the same Abbey Road team responsible for last year’s Beatles remasters. Band on the Run, one of
Rolling Stone‘s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time will be available in a one-disc version and a three-CD, one-DVD deluxe edition with bonus cuts, an audio documentary, music videos and more.
The bonus include the hit “Helen Wheels,” “Country Dreamer” and the “Band on the Run” b-side “Zoo Gang,” plus six live cuts from the TV special One Hand Clapping. The DVD will feature footage from the Lagos, Nigeria recording studio were Band on the Run was made and video from the album cover shoot, in addition to the music videos. Also included in the deluxe edition: a 120-page hardcover book with unseen Linda McCartney Photographs and a new interview with Paul.
McCartney struck the deal to re-release his catalog with indie label Concord Music Group this past spring.
