Fergie May Become a Judge on ‘The X Factor’
Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie is the latest pop star said to be in the running for a judge’s spot on Simon Cowell’s forthcoming American version of his X Factor singing competition. Cowell has confirmed to reporters that Fergie is a possible contender, but acknowledged that the busy singer may not be able to devote herself to the show on a full-time basis.

Cowell told reporters yesterday that he has been locked in daily arguments with his producers over selecting a panel of judges for the show. Thus far, the only confirmed judges are former Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid and Cowell himself. Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Paula Abdul and George Michael are among the stars who have been rumored as potential judges for the show. Earlier this week, British tabloids reported that Reid had claimed that British pop singer Cheryl Cole was a lock for the show, but that has not been confirmed by Cowell or Fox.
