Katy Perry has announced the details of her California Dreams summer tour. The singer has scheduled 38 dates thus far, beginning with a concert on June 7th in Atlanta. According to Variety, Will Smith is in talks with Sony to produce a remake of the musical Annie with his daughter, nascent pop star Willow Smith, in the lead role. Jay-Z, who scored a hit with “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” sampling the musical, is attached to collaborate on the music. [Variety]
Iggy Pop Drummer Killed in Hit-and-Run
Alex Kirst, the drummer for Iggy Pop and the glam rock band the Nymphs, was killed in a hit-and-run car crash in the California desert. Kirst, who was 47, was struck down while walking along Date Palm Road in Cathedral City, California. [Billboard]
