Westminster Council Extends Curfew for Snow Patrol Until 1 A.M.
Though Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen were cut off at Hyde Park earlier this month, Snow Patrol will not see the same curfew restrictions for their Olympics opening show on July 27th, reports the BBC. Westminster Council has ruled they will allow Snow Patrol to play until 1 a.m. on Friday morning, noting the show with Duran Duran, Stereophonics and Paolo Nutini is a special situation with the Olympic Games.
“The opening night of the Olympics is clearly an exceptional evening and the Hyde Park show on Friday is timed to run around the opening ceremony of the Olympics,” said council member Audrey Lewis. “It is not a case of a straightforward concert night at Hyde Park.”
On July 14th, Bruce Springsteen had his encore, featuring Paul McCartney, cut short after playing past the 10:30 p.m. curfew. Blur, who are set to play an Olympics closing show on August 12th in Hyde Park, have also been granted a later curfew.
