Post-punk trio Weekend has had a busy year. In between heavy touring in support of their 2010 debut Sports and having their track “End Times” used to promote the Showtime hit Dexter, the San Francisco-based noise-pop group have found the time to reflect on the past year and write follow up EP, Red, set to be released this fall. It seems fitting that their first track off the EP, “Hazel,” was created during an all-night writing and recording session in San Francisco. Bassist Shaun Durkan tells Rolling Stone that the energetic, bouncy track is “about having an enduring bond with someone through thick and thin. Relationships that are strengthened through suffering, not broken.” The Red EP will be in stores on September 20th, but you can download “Hazel” for free here.
