White Stripes Cancel Tour
Jack White’s broken left index finger has forced the White Stripes
to cancel the dates on their scheduled summer tour, which was to
have kicked off Saturday in Providence, Rhode Island. The outing
was set to run through an August 10th show in the band’s hometown
of Detroit. The Stripes are planning to reschedule the shows, and
their September U.S. tour dates will not be affected.
White broke the finger in three places in a car accident in
Detroit July 9th. “Air bag, the air near my fingers, devil in my
left hand, doctors say no way, lots of pain,” he wrote on his
band’s Web site. “Made it through year of rock & roll death,
got off with just a warning.”
