Justin Bieber on the Beach: Behind His “Never Let You Go” Shoot
In the current issue of Rolling Stone, writer Jason Gay tracks a few days in the hectic life of teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, who chats about a recent kiss from Rihanna (“I had a shower and everything — and it’s still there”) and meeting Jessica Biel during an audition for Justin Timberlake.
A history of heartthrobs in Rolling Stone: Tom Cruise to the Jonas Brothers.
Thanks to millions of YouTube fans and an army of adolescent devotees — an appearance at a New York mall in November caused a riot before Bieber even arrived — Usher’s 15-year-old protege is well on his way to superstardom without the assistance of the Disney empire that shepherded the young careers of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. “He had all the nuance of a classic artist,” Usher tells RS. “He had swagger. And most important, he had talent.”
RS caught up with Bieber last week while he was shooting the Colin Tilley-directed video for “Never Let You Go,” a song off his upcoming full-length debut My World (Part II), in the Bahamas.
