Taylor Swift Donates $4 Million to Country Music Hall of Fame
Taylor Swift has pledged to donate $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, CMT reports.
The pledge, which is the largest capital contribution by an individual in the Hall’s history, will fund a new education center that is set to open in early 2014 and feature three classrooms and a children’s exhibit gallery. In honor of Swift’s large contribution, the space will be named the Taylor Swift Eduction Center.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum originally opened in Nashville in 1967, before moving to its current location in 2001. The new, 140,000-square-foot museum cost $37 million to build, with current plans to expand the Hall to more than 350,000 square feet. The education center will span two floors and over 7,500 square feet.
