Sea Inside
When Javier Bardem played a wheelchair-bound philanderer in Pedro Almodovar's Live Flesh, he was compelling. Here, as quadriplegic inventor Ramen Sampedro — who insists, "I want to die because life like this has no dignity" while continuing to type with a pointer held in his teeth — Bardem is ludicrous. With plenty of tears and ponderous shots of the sea, this is the most overwrought handling of the right-to-die question since Million Dollar Baby. For those who couldn't get enough of Terri Schiavo.
