Manson Settles Assault Suit
Marilyn Manson (a.k.a. Brian Warner) and a Detroit security guard have reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed by the latter, who accused the shock rocker of sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Joshua Keasler accused Manson, clad only in a thong and panty hose, of gyrating against his face during a July 2001 performance in Detroit. Manson was also hit with criminal charges in the incident. He pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct in 2002 and received a $4,000 fine.
The civil suit echoed another case against Manson, initiated by a Minnesota security guard. Last September a jury unanimously decided that Manson hadn’t caused David Diaz emotional distress when he placed the guard’s head against his crotch during a 2000 performance at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis. Diaz sought $75,000.
The terms of Manson’s settlement with Keasler were not revealed.
