Kanye West shocked the audience at the MTV Europe Awards on Sunday night by jumping onstage with 30 Seconds to Mars. “This wasn’t even last-minute, more like last-second,” frontman Jared Leto said of the performance, which fused the group’s “Hurricane” with a bit of Kanye’s “Power.” “Literally, right before we went on, we were making changes, and Kanye said, ‘Well, maybe we’ll play a piece of “Power” in the middle of the song,’ and we were like, ‘OK, let’s go for it.’ ” [MTV News]

Lou Reed and Susan Boyle have made up after a spat over Boyle’s desire to cover Reed’s “Perfect Day” on Britain’s Got Talent &38212; so much so that the Velvet Underground founder helped the singer make a video for the song in Scotland. “”I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan’s native Scotland and she quickly agreed,” Reed said. Pulp to Reunite
After a long hiatus, Pulp have announced plans to play several concerts next summer.” “The shows will involve all the original members of the band and they will be playing songs from all periods of their career,” the band, which announced an extended break in 2001, said in a statement. Outgoing Florida Governor Considering Jim Morrison Pardon
Outgoing Florida Governor Charlie Crist is considering a posthumous pardon for Jim Morrison. The Doors singer famously exposed himself and shouted expletives during a 1969 concert in Miami and was convicted on indecent-exposure and profanity charges. Crist, who will leave office in January, said, “Candidly, it’s something that I haven’t given a lot of thought to, but it’s something I’m willing to look into in the time I have left. Lily Allen in the Hospital
British singer Lily Allen was rushed to the hospital for treatment of septicaemia Friday just after suffering a miscarriage. She “is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve,” her rep said in a statement. “Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone whilst she recovers.” [Reuters]
Queen Leave EMI
In the latest setback for the troubled EMI Music Group, Queen have signed with Universal Music Group after nearly 40 years with EMI. The Rolling Stones, Radiohead and Paul McCartney have all left EMI since it was taken over by private equity firm Terra Firma in 2007. Terra Firma head Guy Hands also lost a court case last week in which he accused Citigroup of tricking him into overpaying for EMI. [ABC]
