Norah Returns With “Home”
Norah Jones will release her second album, Feels Like Home, in February.
The follow-up to her eight-million-selling Come Away With Me finds the singer/pianist joined by her Grammy-winning songwriter/collaborator Jesse Harris, along with the Band’s Levon Helm and Garth Hudson. Dolly Parton also makes an appearance on the album. Jones and Parton had previously teamed up in November at the Country Music Association Awards for a rendition of “The Grass Is Blue,” a Parton song that Jones covered on a tribute to the country legend.
Jones wrote or co-wrote six of Feels Like Home‘s thirteen songs, including a recasting of Duke Ellington’s “Melancholia” with Jones’ new lyrics. The album also features covers of fellow Texan Townes Van Zandt’s “Be Here to Love Me” and the Tom Waits rarity “The Long Way Home.”
The first single, “Sunrise,” is due later this month. Jones will tour Europe in April, and the U.S. in July.
