Florence and the Machine Cancel Two Festival Dates
Florence and the Machine have been forced to cancel two festival dates for this week, Benicassim in Spain on July 12th and Optimus Alive in Portugal on July 14th. Florence Welch made the announcement on Twitter today, revealing that she has lost her voice. “I’ve sustained a vocal injury and been told I cannot sing for a week… Seriously I felt something snap, it was very frightening,” she tweeted. “Unfortunately this means I will not be able to perform at Benicassim and Optimus Alive festival this weekend… I am so so sorry.”
Despite Welch’s wishes to perform, she was “told without question not to” due to possible permanent damage. Florence and the Machine will kick off a North American tour on July 20th in Burnaby, British Columbia.
