Billie Joe Armstrong charged with a DUI
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on January 5th. The singer was driving a black BMW convertible near Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, California, and stopped for speeding around 1 a.m. He failed a sobriety test and was booked and released on $1,053 bail.
Green Day are at work on a follow-up to 2001’s Warning, which is tentatively set for a fall release, and have contributed to Iggy Pop’s upcoming album. Armstrong’s side band, Pinhead Gunpowder, is planning to release a collection of rare tracks on Green Day’s former label, Lookout! Records.
