Bowie, Borland Go “Under”
Producer and Nine Inch Nail Danny Lohner hopes to do with the
Underworld soundtrack what P. Diddy did with his all-star
Bad Boys II collection, on top of the charts now for four
weeks in a row. Lohner tapped hard rock heroes David Bowie, former
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, Tool frontman Maynard James
Keenan, Filter frontman Richard Patrick, Helmet’s Page Hamilton and
Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante to record for the
set, due September 2nd.
Bowie contributed a remix of “Bring Me to the Disco King,” from
his upcoming album Reality, that features Frusciante and
Keenan. Keenan’s own new project with Lohner, Pulcifer, offers a
new song, “REV 22:20”; and Lohner teams up with Borland, A Perfect
Circle’s Josh Freese and Patrick on the leadoff track, “Awakening,”
recorded under the name the Damning Well.
Also featured on the collection are tracks from Hamilton, the
Dillinger Escape Plan, Skinny Puppy, Lisa Germano and actress Milla
Jovovich.
Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman star in the dark vampires and
werewolves film, which will be released September 19th.
