Thom Yorke, Massive Attack and U.N.K.L.E. Play Occupy London Party
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, Massive Attack’s 3D and U.N.K.L.E. producer Tim Goldsworthy performed at a party for Occupy London at Bank of Ideas last night in the Hackney borough of London. The performance was broadcast over the Occupy London live stream, and the live sets were recorded for an album and HD video that will soon be released to raise money for Occupy London and the broader Occupy movement. According to the Occupy London site, both the album and video will “soon be available on a ‘pay what you want’ basis from the Occupation Records label.”
Yorke had been rumored to play at the Occupy Wall Street at Zuccotti Park in Manhattan with Radiohead back in September, but it never came to pass. 3D and the rest of Massive Attack have been very involved in the Occupy movement, and have recently launched Occupy Radio on their Soundcloud page, featuring mixes and tracks by themselves and other artists inspired by the movement.
