PJ Harvey Plans to Release Paintings, Poetry and Prose
PJ Harvey has revealed loose plans to release a stockpile of paintings, poems and prose fiction that the singer has produced privately over the past two decades. In an interview with Spinner, Harvey says that she has been working diligently on these other art forms concurrently with her music for most of her life, and that she makes a habit of drawing and painting every day. Before she committed to a career in rock, Harvey had been an art student with a concentration in sculpture.

“I’d like to release regularly my extraneous works, drawings and writings that aren’t songs, but just other things that I do,” she says. According to Harvey, she has not been confident enough to share the work in the past, but now feels inspired to display this material following a positive experience as a guest designer for Francis Ford Coppola’s All-Story magazine last year. The singer has not announced any specific plans to publish or exhibit these works just yet.
