P.O.S. Cancels Fall Tour for Emergency Kidney Transplant
Minneapolis rapper P.O.S. announced through YouTube on Friday that he’ll be postponing his fall tour in order to seek treatment for his kidney problems. “I need one new kidney,” P.O.S. says in the video. “Both of my kidneys are garbage. They’ve been going bad since I was a teenager.” The rapper, also known as Stef Alexander, goes on to explain that he had planned to do dialysis on the road while supporting his new album, We Don’t Even Live Here, due out on October 23rd, but complications made that impossible. A recent show at St. Paul’s McNally Smith College of Music was cut short after a half-hour and had him in the emergency room the next day. While P.O.S. plans to keep his hometown engagement on October 26th, 16 other dates over the following month have been canceled.
“I might reach out to you to help me get a new kidney and heal up,” he says, “whether that be seeing if you have a kidney that fits my body, or if you have 20 bucks to throw at it.”
