Ladyhawke’s Colorful ‘Blue Eyes’
Ladyhawke’s eyes play tricks on her in the new video for her latest single, “Blue Eyes.” In the clip the New Zealander rides in on a horse painted like a skeleton and takes a drink from a curious bottle, which leads her on a mirage-filled psychedelic trip through the desert, complete with colorful animation sequences of cats and skulls. All that is left for her to do at the end is to plug in and play – singing away her pain and the strangeness of her new encounters with the song’s catchy chorus until the bottle she drinks from runs dry.
“Sometimes trying to show someone the error in their ways is a futile effort,” Ladyhawke tells Rolling Stone. “In my experience it’s best to just sing them a ‘na na na’ chorus, ha ha.”
“Blue Eyes” is from Ladyhawke’s second album, Anxiety, which is available on iTunes.
