Kenny Chesney on Track for Number One Album
Kenny Chesney’s new album Hemingway’s Whiskey will sell an estimated 180,000 to 200,000 copies in its first week, more than enough to grab the top spot on the Billboard 200. Daft Punk to Cameo in ‘Tron’?
In addition to providing the score for the upcoming Tron: Legacy, the dance-music duo Daft Punk will also reportedly cameo in the film. The group, or at least two people donning the their trademark helmets, were seen briefly triggering “digital fireworks” during a 23-minute preview reel screened by Walt Disney Studios. [

Mario Arrested for Assault
R&B singer Mario was arrested in Baltimore this morning and charged with 2nd degree assault after an alleged confrontation with his own mother. He was released on $24,000 bail. [TMZ]
Campaign to Make John Cage Number One
Last year, a Facebook campaign led by a British man helped make Rage Against the Machine‘s “Killing in the Name” the UK’s numberoOne Christmas single, ending a streak of X Factor winners. This year, John Cage’s experimental piece “4’33”,” which is essentially four minutes and 33 seconds of silence, is being championed in a campaign called Cage Against the Machine. [The Guardian]
