Prince, Eagles, Morrissey Headline Hop Farm Festival
Prince will play his first concert in the U.K. since 2007 at the Hop Farm Festival on July 3rd in Kent, England. The singer will headline the third day of the event, which will also feature a headlining performances by the Eagles and Morrissey, as well as sets by Bryan Ferry, Iggy and the Stooges, Lou Reed, Brandon Flowers, 10cc and Death Cab For Cutie. Blondie to Return with New Album
Blondie have announced that Panic of Girls, their ninth studio album, will hit stores sometime in September. The record, which was produced by Killers collaborator Jeff Saltzman and Paramore producer Kato Khandwala, is the group’s first new release in eight years. Domino Records Launches London Radio Station
Domino Records, home of artists such as Animal Collective, the Kills, Franz Ferdinand and Dirty Projectors, will launch a radio station for one week only beginning on June 6th. The station will broadcast continuously during that time on 87.7 FM in London and stream online for listeners around the world. The label’s plans for programming have not been fully announced, though it has been confirmed that Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie will DJ at some point. [Press release]
Matthew Morrison Joins NKOTBSB Tour
Glee star Matthew Morrison has been announced as an opener for the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block’s NKOTBSB tour. The singer will postpone some of his solo concerts in order to join the tour in Anaheim, California on July 6th. Morrison will continue on with the tour through August 7th in London, Ontario. Human League to Tour with B-52s
Synthpop pioneers the Human League have announced a brief tour of the United States in September with the B-52s. The bands will first team up for a gig at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 2nd and continue on with shows in Las Vegas, Sarataga, California, Woodinville, Washington and Denver before wrapping up at the Best Buy Theater in Manhattan on September 23rd.
