Devo Announce Brief Tour
Devo have announced a string of four concerts in June to promote their most recent album Something For Everybody. The announcement comes after many of the band’s 2010 dates were canceled due to guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh’s hand injury. Devo will kick off their mini-tour at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio and hit Pittsburgh and Toronto before wrapping up at the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Nas Plans New Solo Album
Nas has begun work on his tenth album, which is planned for release later this year. The rapper tells Billboard that he is drawing inspiration from several contemporary emcees, including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Drake and Odd Future, and that he will be collaborating with Odd Future vocalist Frank Ocean on the new record. Jimmy Buffett Producer Dead at 60
Marty Lewis, a veteran record producer and engineer best known for collaborating with Jimmy Buffett on hits such as “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” has died at the age of 60. Lewis died on April 27th while swimming in the Sea of Cortez in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. [Billboard]
Village Voice Reveals Festival Lineup
The Village Voice has announced the initial lineup of the 4 Knots Music Festival, the replacement for the publication’s long-running Siren Music Festival in Coney Island.
