Lily Allen Changes Professional Name to Lily Rose Cooper
Lily Allen is heading back to the studio for a new album, but she’s doing it under a new moniker: The singer has changed her professional name to Lily Rose Cooper.
In June the pop singer tweeted that she was back in the studio working on a few tracks with producer Greg Kurtsin. Today’s statement noted that she has “booked further studio time” to continue developing older tracks while also working on new ones.
“It’s great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music,” said Cooper. “I’m excited to be heading back into the studio.”
It’s been three years since Cooper’s last effort, 2009’s It’s Not Me, It’s You (which Kurtsin also produced), after which she announced she’d be stepping away from music for a bit.
However, in that time she’s remained rather busy: Cooper started her own record label, In the Name Of, launched a clothing business, Lucy in Disguise, and gave birth to her first child, Ethel Mary, with husband Sam Cooper.
