Perry Farrell Defeats Evil with the Power of Keytar in Sci-Fi Clip
Perry Ferrell is entering some intense space-jam territory in the video for “Everybody,” his latest dance music collaboration with French DJ Joachim Garraud.
The technicolor video features Farrell and Garraud crashing their spaceship on a strange planet after entering a worm hole. The ladies who inhabit the desert landscape are frozen in place, and a massive pyramid rises out of the ground. Inside, Ferrell’s wife Etty endows them with super powers and the request to “free my people.” A giant robot shots some low-budget-looking laser beams at them, and they retaliate with a magical keytar, which brings the frozen denizens of the planet back to life.
Inside Perry Farrell’s Wild Vegas EDM Musical: Sex, Drugs and War
The video, which premiered through Ultra Music earlier this week, may represent a taste of Kind Heaven, Farrell’s upcoming EDM immersive musical theater project, which he’s working on in Las Vegas with Garraud and Etty Farrell. The musical is set in southern Thailand among the sex and drug trades, and Farrell described it in a recent interview with Rolling Stone as “a love story with a very modern scenario.” While the date and location of the musical are still unknown, the track “Everybody” is set for release March 14th on Beatport.
Jane’s Addiction celebrated the 25th anniversary of their landmark album Nothing’s Shocking last fall, when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They’ll continue celebrating the milestone in May by playing the entire album at a series of shows at the new Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas.
