John Mayer Reveals ‘Born and Raised’ Track Listing
John Mayer is set to release Born and Raised, his fifth studio solo album, on May 22nd. The songwriter produced the record with Don Was, who previously helmed albums by Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King and the Rolling Stones. David Crosby and Graham Nash contributed guest vocals on the title track and session keyboard man Chuck Leavell – best known for his work with Eric Clapton, the Allman Brothers Band and the Stones – is featured throughout the set.
Mayer was forced to delay the completion of Born and Raised while he recovered from severe vocal cord issues late last year. The record, which was largely finished before he was allowed to record vocals, marks a new direction for the singer-songwriter. “I think it’s gonna be more oganic, more natural lyrics and chords and artful simplicity,” Mayer recently told Rolling Stone of the new tunes.
