Kanye West, John Mayer Heading to Seth Meyers’ ‘Late Night’
Two days after recruiting Fred Armisen as bandleader for his house band, Seth Meyers announced that Kanye West will appear during the first week of Late Night With Seth Meyers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rapper will join Vice President Joe Biden, Girls creator Lena Dunham and John Mayer alongside previously announced guest Amy Poehler. Other guests include talk show host Kelly Ripa, country star Brad Paisley and actors Anthony Mackie, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. West will appear as a guest on Late Night, but will not perform.
Armisen, for his part, brings with him an indie rock supergroup. The former Trenchmouth drummer will sing and play guitar and will be joined by guitarist Seth Jabour and bassist Syd Butler (Les Savy Fav), keyboardist Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys) and drummer Kim Thompson (Beyoncé’s touring band).
Earlier this week, Jimmy Fallon announced that Lady Gaga, Tim McGraw, Arcade Fire and Justin Timberlake will join U2 as The Tonight Show‘s opening week musical guests. Fallon lined up a formidable list of actors and comedians as guests, with Will Smith, Jerry Seinfeld, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell and Bradley Cooper all scheduled to appear during the first week. First Lady Michelle Obama will appear alongside Ferrell.
