White’s Dead Weather Announce Tour, Unveil “Horehound” Cover
Just days after implying a White Stripes album will be completed before the end of ’09, Jack White‘s new band the Dead Weather revealed the album cover for their upcoming debut LP Horehound and announced plans to embark on a full North American tour. Horehound, which Rolling Stone took a close look at in our Spring Music Preview, hits shelves July 14th.

Following a one-off show June 11th in Louisville, Kentucky, the North American tour officially kicks off one day before Horehound‘s release with a pair of shows at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club. From there, the tour branches out to the Northeast, Canada and all other time zones before culminating in previously announced slots at San Francisco’s Outside Lands and Texas’ Austin City Limits Festival. Presale tickets for all shows go on sale this Wednesday, May 13th, at noon. Wondering what White’s band with the Kills’ Alison Mosshart, Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita sound like live? Rock Daily caught the band perform at both a private show in Nashville and their first public concert at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.
As Rock Daily reported last week, Jack White revealed that a new White Stripes album won’t be “too far off,” adding that he and drummer Meg White have already recorded some new songs in the studio and will likely resume work when the Dead Weather tour concludes.
