Drake: ‘I Hate What Tumblr Has Become’
Drake isn’t known for being the most active user of social media, but when the rapper’s second album, Take Care, leaked online Sunday night, the Young Money hit-maker addressed it directly on Twitter: “I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore…Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.”
But it seems the rapper isn’t too keen on the idea of social media in general. In an interview with The Source, he explains his “fear” of social media sites: “The thing that scares me most is Tumblr. I hate what Tumblr has become. Because it like, it reminds me of those clique-y girls in high school that used to make fun of everyone else and define what was cool, but in five years, when you all graduate, that shit doesn’t matter… It’s scary man, simulation life that we’re living. It scares me.”
A valid point – followed by a tweet this morning: “Send the haters all my love…x and o.” Oh, high school.
