C-Murder Guilty of Murder
Rapper Corey Miller, better know as C-Murder and the younger
brother of mogul Master P, was convicted of second-degree murder
yesterday in Louisiana. The conviction carries an automatic life
sentence.
Miller was found guilty of shooting and killing sixteen-year-old
Steve Thomas outside the Platinum Club in the town of Harvey,
Louisiana, in January 2002.
Miller maintained his innocence, but two prosecution witnesses
identified him as the trigger man.
After the verdict, the rapper’s father told the press that his
family would seek to appeal the conviction.
C-Murder made his debut with Master P and the third Miller
brother, Silkk the Shocker, in the rap trio Tru in the
mid-Nineties. He also released four solo albums for his brother’s
record labels, starting with 1998’s Life or Death. But his
highest-charting success came when he teamed with Snoop Dogg on the
single “Down for my N’s,” from his 2000 album Trapped in
Crime.
