2 Chainz Arrested at LaGuardia Airport
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in New York City this afternoon after police allegedly found brass knuckles in his carry-on bag, TMZ reports.
The up-and-coming MC, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was on his way to North Carolina when TSA agents discovered the brass knuckles. Police were called and Epps was taken into custody for possession of a criminal weapon.
Hip-Hop DX, however, says they have learned that the brass knuckles were actually a four-finger ring. Big Sean has backed this up with a Tweet that reads, “2 chainz ain’t have no brass knuckles, it was a 4 finger ring that spelled hood. We had a shoot yesturday n he was rockin em.”
2 Chainz remains in custody, and a representative for the rapper told TMZ that his team is “handling the situation.”
It was widely rumored recently that 2 Chainz had signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D., though no official announcement was made. The rapper also appeared on West’s new track “Mercy” and released “No Lie” with Drake, the first single from his debut, Based On a T.R.U. Story, due out on August 14th.
