Date Set for Private Robin Gibb Funeral
The funeral for Bee Gees co-founder Robin Gibb is set for June 8th in the U.K. The service will be private, for family and friends only. Gibb’s family has requested no flowers for the service, but instead encourages donations to the Rebecca House and Wish Upon A Dream, children’s charities that were very important to Gibb.

The Daily Express also reports that Gibb’s family is planning a public memorial service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in September, and that the singer died from kidney failure, not cancer. “It wasn’t the cancer that killed my father; those reports are wrong,” said Robin-John Gibb. “Dad had actually gone into remission and the cancer was completely unrecognizable, it was too small to detect. No scan could see it. He actually died of kidney failure.”
Gibb passed away on May 20th. He was 62.
