Scotty McCreery Rocks Hometown Crowd, Chats With Ram Country
Last month, just a week before Thanksgiving, Season 10 American Idol Scotty McCreery gave a select group of lucky fans something to be extra thankful for: An intimate concert at Durham, N.C.’s historic Carolina Theatre.
The Ram Country Live show was not only special due to its exclusivity; the North Carolina State U. junior also had surplus pep in his step, as he’s from the Raleigh-Durham area himself!
Since we knew that everyone couldn’t make it out to the concert, we live-streamed the event to give fans an up-close and personal (if remote) experience. However, if you happened to miss the stream, we’ve got several of McCreery’s numbers here for you to watch.
After treating the audience to more than a dozen of his own tunes, including the above numbers as well as “The Trouble With Girls,” “Write My Number On Your Hand,” and more, McCreery instructed the crowd to stay put for a few minutes. He then returned to the stage, shifted the mood, and got everyone in the holiday spirit with a couple of Christmas numbers!
Before his energy-packed show, McCreery relaxed with the Ram Country Live team and watched the stage setup from the balcony seats. While hanging out, he chatted about how life as a college junior is chugging along, his thoughts on his musical progression since leaving his teenage years, why he loves traditional country music, and whether or not he’s still playing baseball. Oh yeah — and the guilty pleasure tune he’s been belting out lately (it may surprise you)!
Thanks, Scotty, for a Thanksgiving Ram Country Live event that nobody is sure to forget anytime soon! And a good thing we caught him while we could: McCreery will be embarking on his first headlining tour starting in January 2014.
