Skrillex, Diplo to Tour Canada on a Train
Skrillex, Diplo and a handful of other artists will hit the road – 0r rather, the rails – for a six-city trek through Canada this July, which will see the artists traversing the Great North not by bus but by train, Pitchfork reports.
The Full Flex Express tour, which kicks off July 13 in Toronto, will feature Pretty Lights, Grimes, KOAN Sound and Tokimonsta as openers. The cadre of performers will travel on a private train together between each city, and shows will have multiple stages, like a mini-festival. It’s reminicsent of last April’s Railroad Revival Tour, on which Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show played outdoor shows from San Francisco to New Orleans with the train visible during the performance. Both the Railroad Revival Tour and the Full Flex Express find a predecessor in the Festival Express tour, which took Janis Joplin, the Band and the Grateful Dead across Canada in 1970.
