Pitbull to Host American Music Awards
Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, will touch down in Los Angeles to host the American Music Awards when they air live November 24th on ABC, The Associated Press reports. The rapper will also perform his new song “Timber” alongside Ke$ha.
Pitbull’s hosting duties will in part pay tribute to the AMAs tradition of highlighting Latino artists over the past 25 years: This year, they’ll celebrate the 25th anniversary of Gloria Estefan’s groundbreaking performance at the 1988 AMAs, as well as the 15th anniversary of the Favorite Artist – Latin category (this year’s nominees are Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos and Prince Royce).

Pitbull and Ke$ha also join an already stacked lineup of AMA performers: Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Luke Bryan were all recently added to the show, along with previously announced acts Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, One Direction and Florida Georgia Line.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead this year’s crop of nominees as well, picking up six on the strength of their breakout album The Heist, along with its inescapable hit, “Thrift Shop.” Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake each notched five nods, while Robin Thicke and Rihanna each garnered four.
