Reba McEntire to Headline Alzheimer’s Benefit Concert
Reba McEntire will make a rare club appearance tonight in Nashville. The Country Music Hall of Fame member will perform at a special benefit concert at City Winery in support of Alzheimer’s research.
Dubbed “An Evening Together for Care,” all proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in the memory of Jewel Austin, the grandmother of Warner Music Nashville executive Shane Tarleton, who suffered from the disease.
Lee Ann Womack and Brandy Clark are also set to perform, along with what’s being billed as “very special guests.” Country journalist and personality Suzanne Alexander will host the event. Tickets are still available.
Alzheimer’s awareness has become a particularly high-profile cause in the country music community since the diagnosis of Glen Campbell in 2011. Campbell is currently in the final stages of the disease and living in a memory care facility.
