Watch Debbie Harry Drive NYC Taxi in Blondie’s ‘Long Time’ Video
Debbie Harry drives a taxi cab chaotically through New York City in Blondie‘s frenetic “Long Time” video. The clip, directed by Beyoncé collaborator Dikayl Rimmasch, cuts between Harry’s behind-the-wheel crooning to her bandmates miming their instruments on the busy city streets.
The propulsive, guitar-driven “Long Time,” co-written by Blood Orange‘s Dev Hynes, appears on Blondie‘s upcoming 11th LP, Pollinator, out May 5th. As part of Record Store Day, the band will release 750 seven-inch copies of the single, backed by a new track penned by Harry and guitarist Chris Stein during the album’s recording sessions at New York studio The Magic Shop.
The band also announced their first-ever pop-up shop, scheduled from April 29th to May 3rd at London’s Camden Market. The event will feature an exclusive photography exhibition by Stein.
In addition to Hynes, the John Congleton-produced Pollinator features guest spots from Sia, Charli XCX, Laurie Anderson, Joan Jett, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, the Strokes’ Nick Valensi and TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek (who co-wrote lead single lead single “Fun”).
Blondie will team with Garbage for a co-headlining North American tour that launches July 5th in Saratoga, California.
