See Parmalee’s New Studio Video for ‘Sunday Morning’
Parmalee are going on three-and-a-half years since the release of their last album Feels Like Carolina, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been keeping busy. A few weeks after debuting “Sunday Morning,” the latest single from their expected new album, the North Carolina quartet have a new studio video to accompany it.
The video for “Sunday Morning,” the audio for which originally premiered April 18th, is shot in black and white and features lots of tight close ups, an appropriate match with the song’s smoldering vibe and redemptive love-as-salvation message. With lyrics overlaying the behind-the-scenes in-studio footage, the camera frequently jumps back and forth between brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, as Matt sings and leads the handclaps during the choruses and Scott laughs and sings along, both from behind his drum kit and behind the switch board.
“We’ve had countless people come up to us and say how we’ve inspired them to do this, do that, which just blows our mind, because we’re just a bunch of country guys that like to play music,” Matt told Rolling Stone in 2014, after they’d reached Number One with “Carolina.” The fun they have making music together even comes through in the new video.
“Sunday Morning” is the second single for the band’s yet-to-be announced new album, which will be their second on Broken Bow imprint Stoney Creek Records. The album’s top 40-charting first single “Roots” was released a year ago today.
